Jeffrey L. Bennett, 52, passed away peacefully in his home on February 14, 2024, after a long fight with kidney disease. He had made the decision to end his treatment on dialysis due to the decline of the recent quality of life. He was very determined, like his father Larry, never to give up and to fight as long as it takes to live a good life.
Jeffrey was born on April 1, 1971, in Brookings, South Dakota to Dr. Larry F. and Mary Anne (Sandy) Bennett. He was raised in Brookings and attended pre-school, elementary school, middle school, and high school there, graduating in 1990. He then attended college at Tulsa Junior College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to pursue a future in business. He also later attended Langston-Tulsa. Although he did not obtain a college degree, studies were completed in 1996. He later returned to Langston-Tulsa as a non-traditional student for a short time.
After completing college, Jeff took on a more full-time position at Mazzio's Pizza as a cook after working strictly college summers since 1991. He also temporarily worked at two other jobs before signing on as a delivery driver for Papa John's from 2000 to 2009. In 2008, he went into Market Force, Inc., as an independent merchandiser; in 2012 he also worked for Retail Integrity, and in 2018 began working for Survey.com as well. During this time, his work slowed down to serious health issues.
Jeffrey's hobbies included swimming, cooking, bicycling, watching sports, and annual trips back home to South Dakota. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church for the last 16 years, and attended First Assembly of God throughout his childhood.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Anne Bennett of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother Mark Raymon (Julie) Bennett of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and three nieces and two nephews.
Jeff is loved by many family and friends.
