Jeanne Marie (Keltz) Feilen age 67 entered Heaven on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jeanne was born July 28, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawrence Keltz and Mary (McCoy) Keltz. She graduated with the Class of 1964 from St. Patrick's Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois. On August 10, 1968 Jeanne married the love of her life, Glen Feilen. She was a great nurse and worked as a nurse for Friendship Village Retirement Community for fifteen years and for Vitas Hospice for five years.
Jeanne loved to travel and to read. She enjoyed snow skiing, hiking, photography, and gardening. She was ahead of her time in many ways. She was the original "soccer mom", a marathon runner before it was cool, and an interior decorator before HGTV was popular. Jeanne's biggest joy was her grandkids. Whether she was taking them to the park, zoo, or movies, she was always spoiling them with love and devotion. She loved hosting get-togethers and spending time with her friends and family. She always lived by the motto of “the more the merrier” as she planned neighborhood swim parties and family holidays. Jeanne’s greatest strength was her generosity and her selfless love for others. She had such an impact on so many people throughout her life, but perhaps the people who she touched most were her patients and their families. She felt it was an honor to serve others because it was God’s calling on her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Mary Keltz, her brother, Frank Keltz, her sister, Judith Sosnowski and grandson, Jackson Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Feilen, her son, Ryan Feilen and his wife Makeesha of Tulsa, her daughter, Shay Patterson and her husband, Clint of Jenks, her son, Cale Feilen and his wife, Jenifer of Schaumburg, Illinois, her loving grandchildren: Cade, Makena, Zofia, Emmaus, Gabe, Josiah, Judah, Ezekiel along with other family members and many friends and acquaintances.
Private family services will take place at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com
