Jeaneene Alice (McCarthy) Proszek age 79 passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jeaneene was born November 10, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to John McCarthy and Verona (Lynch) McCarthy. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School with the Class of 1948. Jeaneene married the love of her life, Jim Proszek, on October 18, 1952. She and her husband moved to the Tulsa area in 1974. She worked as a realtor for forty years before retiring in 1995. Jeaneene enjoyed traveling but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection in Tulsa.
Jeaneene was preceded in death by her parents: John and Verona McCarty; her son: Michael Alan Proszek (February 14, 2004); and her sister: Veronica McCarthy.
She is survived by her husband: James Joseph Proszek of Tulsa; her son: James J. Proszek and his wife, Lisa of Tulsa; her daughter: Maureen A. Wheatley and her husband, Gibson of Kingwood, Texas; and her precious grandsons: James Ryan Proszek, James Michael Proszek and Joseph Proszek of Tulsa; Samuel and Matthew Wheatley of Kingwood, Texas along with other family members, friends and acquaintances.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6th at Church of the Resurrection, 4804 S. Fulton, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Reverend Steve Austin and Reverend Michael Knipe will officiate.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 2227 E. Skelly Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105.
