Jean Etheredge Eads passed away January 31, 2022. She was born December 19, 1932, in Thomasville, Alabama. She was the first of three daughters born to Alonzo and Ezell Etheredge. Jean lived in Pritchard until graduating from Murphy High School in 1949, then moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she worked as a secretary. She returned to Pritchard, where she met her husband, Paul, at a USO dance in 1953. After they married, they moved to Oklahoma City where Jean worked in the Chamber of Commerce to support them while Paul attended OU College of Engineering. They had their only son, Brian, in 1965. After moving frequently, they settled in Jenks, Oklahoma, in 1977. After they retired in 1997, Jean stayed active with civic causes, including construction of the Oklahoma Aquarium and support of Democratic candidates and women's causes. Jean was a voracious reader who especially enjoyed biographies, watching wildlife and visiting with her family in Alabama. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. She is survived by her sisters, Lois Hocutt and Peggy Tindle, and her son, Brian. Funeral services will be held at Mobile Funeral Home, Mobile AL, on Wednesday, February 9 at 10 AM.
