Jean Corington Duncan, age 96, passed away on May 22, 2014. Jean was born on December 23, 1917 to Tandy and Beula Corington in Gower MO. She attended Northwest Teachers College in Maryville MO. and graduated from University of Missouri in 1942. Married Stephen Clay Duncan Jr. and Lived in St. Cloud, Minn., Sedalia MO., Prairie Village KS. and moved to Tulsa in 1962. Jean joined Asbury Methodist Church in 1965 and later joined The First Methodist Church. Jean taught public school in MO. KS and OK. After retirement, Jean spent several years as a real estate associate. Jean always enjoyed life through her art work, traveling and friends!
Jean is preceded in death by her brother William Curtis Corington, of San Francisco, CA. and her sister Mary Nelson of Plattsburg, MO.
Jean is survived by her son Stephen, his wife Patricia and grandchildren Amanda Rea, Sara and Allison Duncan. As well as niece, Mary Jill Webber, her husband Steve and their children Heidi and Chase, Nephew Harrison Nelson, his wife Julie, of Tucson AZ. and Nephew John Nelson, of Gower MO.
Services will be held at the University Village Chapel, 8555 South Lewis Ave, Tulsa Oklahoma, on June 2nd at 11:00 am. Her ashes will be spread at the family plot outside of Gower MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Asbury Methodist or First Methodist Church, in Tulsa.
Jean will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
