Janet Mitchell was born Janet LaVonne Lage on January 29th 1940 in Lake Park Iowa, to parents Walter and Edna Lage. She had three loving sisters, Joyce, LeAnn and Cheryl.
On October 16, 1960, she married Gerald Mitchell in Round Lake, Minnesota.
The Mitchell’s started a family in Minnesota before moving to Broken Arrow Oklahoma in 1981.
Janet, or known to many as “Grammy Jan”, a devoted, caring and nurturing mother enjoyed spending time with her family and neighborhood friends.
Janet passed away, at home, in the early mornings hours on September 11, 2017, after a 36 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her adoring family.
Janet is survived by her sister, LeAnn Jobes of Fremont, Nebraska, her daughter, Kristi and her husband, Craig Frank of Tulsa, OK., her son, Scott of Oklahoma City, and three grandchildren, Landon, Jacob and Parker, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and husband, Joyce and Jerry Lewis, and her beloved son, Todd.
A celebration of Janet's life will held at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 4250 W. Houston St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.
