Just like the song that Mama had put in stone, she would meet Daddy "when her chores were through." She took her task as a mother, grandmother very seriously. Her chores are through; she will no longer be there to pick up the pieces of anyone's lives. Mama tried. Most would say she tried to hard, trying to be everything to everybody. Always gave 100% of herself, well today she is at rest, no more worries, no more heartache, no more praying for us. From now on when life comes at you, the question will need to be, "What would Mama do?" "What would Grandma do?"
Mama gave to those around her, flower starts, crochet work, and the many stories. To our dismay, she spoke about us, to everyone that stood still long enough for a conversation. She gave to her church family. She gave to her community, donating hundreds of crochet hats to cancer patients and preemie babies.
Mama crocheted everday of her life. She carried little sunshines and hearts in her purse. She gave them to the sad in lonely that she met in her favorite hangout Wal-mart.
Mama loved adventure, seeing the wonders of this world thrilled her, she has traveled coast-to-coast gathering rock and shells for her many collections. Going canoeing, kayaking, hiking, 4 wheeling, and not long ago she rode her first motorcycle.
Mama loved bells and paperweights. You could find her in the many thrift stores and garage sales gathering little treasures. Mama loved many things, but most of all, she loved us.
Mama loved God, lived the best example to all those around her. She did right by people even when they didn't do right by her. She never turned her back on a person even if they turned their back on her. She forgave, repeatedly. That was a testament of her love. She will be missed in many ways.
