Ja'Mia Brown-Lyons

August 5, 1986 — March 8, 2025

With hearts full of love and reverence, we celebrate the beautiful life of Ja'Mia Renee Brown-Lyons. Born a twin on August 5, 1986, in Milwaukee, WI, she was a divine gift to her parents, Sam and Wanda Brown. From the very beginning, Ja'Mia's journey was one of love, laughter, resilience, and boundless beauty an essence that remained unshaken through the years.

As a child, Ja'Mia and her family relocated to St. Louis, MO, where she gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was baptized under Pastor C.V. Smith at Original Friendship Baptist Church, a foundation of faith that became her anchor through life's joys and storms. She carried this strength with her, unwavering in her belief that with faith, anything was possible.

Ja'Mia's path was paved with ambition and determination. A proud graduate of Pattonville High School in Maryland Heights, MO, she cultivated friendships that lasted a lifetime. She later pursued higher education, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Phoenix University and securing her Pharmacy Technician license. She was driven by an unstoppable dream to own her own business.

Though she was a force of life, Ja'Mia also knew sorrow. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Samuel L. Brown, and her grandmother, Flora Lee-James. Though their absence was deeply felt, she carried their love with her always, finding strength in their memory. We would be remiss not to mention her beloved dog, Cupcake, who also preceded her in death but held a special place in her heart.

On March 24, 2005, JaMia welcomed her first son, Amori Christopher Brown, a moment that transformed her life in the most beautiful way. She was a devoted mother, fiercely protective and endlessly proud of her children. She married Curtis (Chris) Lyons on November 11, 2011 a union that brought forth two more incredible blessings, Aniylah and Ayden Lyons. Her family was her heart, and she worked tirelessly to bring them together, believing deeply in the power of love and unity.

Ja'Mia was truly the life of the party, always the first to bring joy to a room with her infectious laughter and her signature chant "Shots, shots, shots!" She had a spirit that could not be dimmed, even in the face of adversities. She fought fiercely through every obstacle life threw her way. She faced them with courage, resilience, and never losing her faith or her fire, she never gave up. But JaMia was never just one thing, she was many things, all at once, a dreamer, and a fighter.

Ja'Mia had a gift for transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. Whether it was hair, makeup, or fashion, she brought an effortless confidence to everything she touched. She was a true DIVA, bold, beautiful, and unapologetically herself. Every step she took was one of power, and every room she entered was left a little brighter because of her presence.

But beyond her love for fashion and fun, Ja'Mia was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a beacon of love, a rock of unwavering support. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Wanda L. Brown, her loving children, Amori Brown, Aniyah Lyons, Ayden Lyons, and her husband, Curtis (Chris) Lyons. She is also survived by her siblings: Yourica Brown, Gloria Jean Brown, Tasha Brown, Khalilah Brown, her twin Jason Brown, Tia (Paul) Slayton, Tamera Slayton, DaMarcus Brown, Darrius Brown, and God-Sister Tameka Jamerson. Also by her best friends, Breanna Roberts, Tiffany Hunter, and Melissa Wiley. She is mourned by a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Though her time with us was far too short, JaMia's love, laughter, and legacy will live on in every heart she touched. She was a force, a fire, a light that will never fade.

Rest in Power, MiaBee, whom her sister Tasha lovingly nicknamed her. Your presence may no longer grace this Earth, but your spirit will shine forever.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day..."

- 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)
