James William Painter

James William (Chubby) Painter was born on December 4, 1925 in Hanna, Oklahoma Jim and Lena Painter. He served in the Navy and was a Veteran of World War II. James is a retired from ASG and Ford Glass where he was employed for over 50 years. He was a member of the Henryetta Immanuel Baptist Church and a past member of the Henryetta Country Club. James married his loving wife, Barbara Miller on November 22, 1952 in Van Buren, Arkansas. James is survived by his wife, Barbara Painter of the home; daughter Charlette Herbert and husband Vick of Glenpool, OK; Son Ronnie Lee Painter and wife Carla of Bristow, OK; Grandchildren: Shelly Stout and husband Audie of Glenpool, OK; Ryan Tomlinson and wife Lorrie of Glenpool, OK; Bryan Painter of Bristow, OK; and Jennifer Painter and Chris of Bristow, OK; Great Grandchildren: Lindsay Stout of Glenpool, OK; Reed Stout of Glenpool, OK; Elijah Tomlinson of Glenpool, OK; Zachary Painter; and Courtney Painter; Step-Great Grandchildren: Isaac and Gage Tiger of Glenpool, OK; Sisters: Fern Barnes of Pasadena, TX, Opal Johnson of Texas, Jean Masoer and husband Danny of Valencia, CA; Sister-In-Law, Shirley Finley of Glenpool, OK; Niece, Tonya McCurry of Glenpool, OK; and a host of many other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lena Painter; Sisters: Clessie Steen, Alma Demmitt, amd Pearl Nix; and Brother, Earl Painter. Services for Mr. Painter have been scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Henryetta Immanuel Baptist Church at 10:00am With Reverend Edward Finley officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Roger Kinney, Dr. Kenneth Kirk, and the rest of the hospital staff at the St. John's Hospital in Sapulpa.
