James Redding

March 19, 1954 — July 7, 2024

Dr. James L. Redding passed away on July 7th. Born in Tulsa, he graduated from high school in Indian Springs, NV, and returned to Oklahoma to play basketball at Seminole Junior College. After his time there, he moved back to Tulsa and worked as a welder alongside his father.

It was in Tulsa that he discovered the Tulsa Rugby Football Club, where he found an extended family and lifelong friends. His passion for rugby led him to travel the world, seizing every opportunity to play the game he loved.

Encouraged by many, Jim shifted his career path and became a Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He returned to Tulsa to practice holistic medicine and became actively involved in coaching the Tulsa area high school rugby program.

Off the pitch, Jim was known as a jokester and someone who liked to have a good time. He was a devoted son and uncle caring for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter and grandchildren, who never failed to bring a smile to his face.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Redding. He is survived by his sister, Patti Sue (Tulsa); his nephew, Louis Bell (Tulsa); his daughter, Brittani (David) Wilson (Dallas); and his beloved grandchildren, Everett and Eloise.
