James Emmett Longacre left this world on Wednesday, February 26th at the age of 79. A longtime resident of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, he was a proud Razorback fan, a man of deep faith, and someone who truly found joy in his work and hobbies throughout his life.
James was the beloved son of the late Emmett Longacre and Edna Massey. He was a devoted father to Ben Longacre and wife, Sherry, and Evan Longacre and wife, Chrissy, a cherished grandfather to Kolton, William, Cadence, Logan, and Riley, and the proud great-grandfather of Hallie, the newest blessing in the family. He is also survived by his loving brothers, Steve Longacre and Jerry Longacre, along with extended family, dear friends, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
A man of integrity and dedication, James built a successful career as a tile setter before answering the call to public service. He spent nearly 22 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Tulsa, serving his community with honor, fairness, and unwavering commitment. His strong moral compass and dedication to doing what was right defined both his professional and personal life.
Outside of work, James found happiness in life's simple joys -horse racing, fishing, shooting, and being an honorable man in all that he did. Whether spending time with family, pursuing his passions, or standing up for what was right, he embodied strength, loyalty, and kindness. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of hard work, love, and integrity will live on. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.
Rest easy, Dad-you were one of the good ones.
