On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, James Everett Moore, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home in Broken Arrow, OK. He was 77 years old.
James was born on February 12th, 1944 in Coffeyville, KS. to Leo and Madeline Moore. James attended Elementary through High School in Coffeyville Kansas and graduated with the class of 1962 from Field Kindley Memorial High School. James was known for his many roles and achievements both academically and athletically throughout his academic career. James was an all-around athlete that lettered in track, baseball, basketball and held the title of All American Football Player. After high school, James attended The University of Oklahoma where he pledged and was initiated to Sigma Chi. He later graduated from Oklahoma State University. James became active in his community by becoming a 33rd Degree Mason and being an active member of the Blue Lodge and Scottish Rite, along with coaching a variety of youth sports. James pursued and made a career as an Enforcement Officer for the Oklahoma Tax Commission where he took early retirement.
James was known for many things but he was above all known as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. James married Mary L. Moore (Seratte) of Tulsa on May 6, 1974 and had 46 loving years of marriage.
Many who knew James has described him as a wonderful and caring man who always had a smile. James NEVER met a stranger, carried a mischievous twinkle in his eye, always had a joke to tell and made new friends everywhere he went. James was always up for a good game of bridge, a tasty Bar BQ, and was a true Sooners Fan. He was a man who touched many hearts, souls and will be remembered fondly.
James is Survived by his wife Mary Moore (Seratte) of Broken Arrow, Son James Moore Jr.(wife) Betty, (children) Avilene and Leo of Broken Arrow. Daughter Penny Punnett (husband) David, (sons) Joe, Random, and Sam of Naples, NY. Son Monte Moore (wife) Shayne, (children) Spencer and Emily of Jenks. Son Sam Cue (wife) Hisel, (children) Kali, Alexandra, and Max of Bixby. Brothers, Paul Brunton and Charles Shadday. Along with a slew of nieces, nephews, fraternity brothers, friends, family and friends that are counted as family. James is proceeded in death by his Father and Mother, Leo and Madeline Moore, Uncle Jim and Aunt Helen Webster, and his grandparents John and Mary Purkey.
There will be a Viewing and Rosary on April 15th at Schaudt's Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial Dr. in Tulsa. Rosary @ 6:00 p.m. Viewing will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held April 16th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2434 East Admiral Blvd. in Tulsa. There will be a Graveside Burial directly after the funeral mass at Memorial Park Cemetary in Tulsa. Reception will be held after the Graveside Service in the reception hall of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
