It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Edward Hewitt on July 21, 2023, at the age of 70. James was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love.

Born on May 24, 1953, James was the son of the late Juanita Jean Anders and Cecil Edward Hewitt. Preceded in death by his parents, he now joins them in eternal rest.

In 2008, James and the love of his life, Anita Marie Hewitt, sealed their bond in marriage on October 18th. Anita survives him, and their love was a pillar of strength and joy throughout their journey together.

A devoted and loving father, James will be deeply missed by his daughters and their families. James held a special place in his heart for his extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom he loved dearly.

Throughout his life, James was passionate about landscape photography, finding joy in capturing the beauty of the natural world. His sense of wonder led him to embark on spontaneous road trips, exploring all of God's creations. A man of curiosity and dedication, he honed his engineering and oil and gas field skills through trade school. His creativity shone through as he developed software programs for Baker Hughes, which remained in use for an impressive 14 years. With exceptional leadership skills, he oversaw operations in 26 countries during his tenure with the company.

Over the years, James contributed his talents to several companies, including Baker Hughes, Summit ESP, Flight Safety, Munice Power Products, and Helmrich & Payne, where he concluded his remarkable career.

James will forever be remembered as a deeply caring and loving individual, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He cherished the small gestures in life, treasured moments spent with family and friends, and held a special affection for cars.
