James Edward Grim, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the age of 89. He was born October 31, 1924 to Jess and Eunice (Fleming) Grim in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was member of the VFW Post 1189 Okmulgee at which he participated in the Funeral Honor Guard and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Eunice Grim; son, Gary Grim; wife, Shirley Grim and three brothers, Preston, Tony and Gerald Grim. Survivors include his son, John Grim and wife, Jeannie of Okmulgee and daughter, Jonell Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Ann Edwards and husband, Huland of Colleyville, Texas; brother, Derald Grim and wife, Lynette of Clovis, New Mexico; granddaughter, Heather vonHartitzsch and husband, David; grandson, Michael Grim; three great grandchildren, August, Kylie and Lily vonHartitzsch and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Reverend Darren Ballard officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Michael Grim, Duane Grim, Tony Hale, David vonHartitzsch, Tony Fuller and Danny Fults. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Patriot Guard Riders. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.
