Jacqueline Lewis

August 9, 1930 — January 19, 2017

Jacqueline Lewis, 86, died on January 19, 2017. She was born August 9, 1930, in Clarence, MO, to CW and Virginia Mitchell. Jackie worked many jobs, including Boeing in Seattle, WA, and Triangle Company in Tulsa, OK. She also volunteered at Holland Hall Primary School in Tulsa. Jackie enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading the Bible, raising chickens in her backyard, watching her beloved Joel Osteen on TV and listening to Hispanic radio on her little white boombox. She didn’t understand the words, Jackie once said of her favorite station, but thought the music was just so very, very happy. Jackie was jovial, fun-loving, outgoing and, above all, a devout Christian. She never missed an opportunity to tell everyone she met, even complete strangers occasionally, about the farm she planned to own someday. Possibly in Alaska.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Lillian Pogue and Mary Corzine Murr, and brother Charles Mitchell.

Her survivors include son Jim Lewis of Gracia, Costa Rica; sister JoAnne Craig of Grove OK; grandchildren Jaime Gollihare and Mandy Lewis, both of Tulsa, OK, and Mindy Greyson of Franklin, TN; and great grandchildren Jude Smith and Winston Gollihare of Tulsa, OK, and Jax, Catcher, Finn, Lulabelle, Holiday, Petunia and Rockford Greyson of Franklin, TN.

A small memorial gathering will be held at Jackie’s home on January 29, 2017, 2pm, for family and close friends.
