Jack Clayton Thomas Jack Clayton Thomas, a former resident of Henryetta, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 88. He was born March 22, 1923 to Clayton and Bertha (Everett) Thomas in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. At the age of 4, Jack and his family moved to the Henryetta area and then to the Wilson community, where he attended school. He served four years in the United States Army Air Corps, where he volunteered to go to Europe to fight in WWII and served as a staff sergeant working as an airplane mechanic. He retired after working 40 years for Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Bertha Thomas; his wife of 32 years, Mary Etta Thomas; son, Jack Thomas, Jr.; sisters, Norma Crummett, Ester May Thomas, Margaret Jones and Lois Gatewood and brother, Gene Thomas. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Taylor and husband, Mark of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Donald Wayne Thomas of Tulsa and wife, Diana and numerous relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta with Lowell Churchill officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home of Henryetta.
