On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, after 69 wonderful years of life, Isabel Brown left this world on a journey to meet her maker, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her loving family members at her daughter's home in Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Isabel was born on October 6, 1938 in Fort Stockton, Texas. Isabel was raised as a Catholic and was baptized in this faith. In 1970 Isabel and her family moved to Oklahoma and the last nine years she lived in Glenpool. She attended First Baptist Church in Glenpool. Isabel worked as a Tupperware Manager for years. She brought smiles and enjoyment to all the people who came in contact with her. She also took great pride in being a homemaker and a devoted mother to her children. She raised one son and four daughters. She loved spending time with her family members, enjoyed doing ceramics, cooking, painting and making new things out of old things. She also liked going to garage sales and gardening.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband: Calvin Brown; parents: Vidal Porras, Sr. and Beatriz Acosta Porras; her brother: Vidal Porras, Jr.; her sister: Verlinda Vidana; her brother: Pablo Porras and grandson: Cory Vandevander. Isabel is survived by her five children: son: Bill Brown and his wife, Shay of Elk City; her four daughters: Missy Brown Dodd of Sentinel; Carol Brown Davitt of Elk City; Rebecca Brown Armentrout of Glenpool; and Dian Brown Vandevander and her husband, Bob of Glenpool; her sister: Magdalena Porras of Kerrville, Texas along with twelve dear grandchildren: Derek Brown, Alyssa Allee Brown, Corbin Brown, Dakota Hamlett, Anna Hamlett, Blaze Hamlett, Jessica Rameriz, Callie Rameriz, Tony Rameriz, Cylver Brown, Angela Vandevander and Matthew Vandevander, one great grandson: Deven Thomas; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved her very much.
Pallbearers are: Jose Vidana, Steven Garcia, Scott Garcia, Nina Vidana, Marcus Rameriz and Dustin Thomas.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Schaudt's Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m.
Local funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 4th at First Baptist Church, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Reverend Steven Mc Abee will officiate. Visitation will take place on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McClure Funeral Home, 114 S. 3rd Street, Sentinel, Oklahoma.
Funeral services on Saturday, April 5th at 10:00 a.m. at McClure Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Brett Allen will officiate. Interment will take place immediately following at Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, Oklahoma.
