Imbi Martenson passed away Tuesday morning, May 14, 2014 at her residence in Tulsa. She was born May 14, 1923 in Tallinn, Estonia, a small country on the Baltic Sea. In 1940, she married Edgar Martenson and they came to America in 1947. They proceeded to start a new life, work hard, and raise a family. Imbi was a devoted wife as well as a loving and caring mother. To her, family was everything. She was a woman of strength and full of spirit. She loved to dance, cook, sew, and paint. Her favorite pastime was fine dining and there had better be coffee and cake! Imbi was an elegant and graceful woman with a great sense of humor. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Imbi was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Anna Villemi. She is survived by her children Sven Martenson of Utah, Henrik Martenson of Florida, and Vivian Martenson of Oklahoma; five grandchildren Karl, Erik, Henrik, Hillary, and Matthew; four great grandchildren Myla, Lily, Jocelyn, and Demarco.
