Howard Wayne (Bud) Eden age 79 passed away quietly on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his residence in Jenks, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family members.
Bud was born March 2, 1930 to Ruel H. and L. Edna (Bruce) Eden in Jenkins, Missouri. He grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Jenkins, Missouri. He enlisted into the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the service, Bud settled in Mount Vernon, Missouri where he worked in the trucking industry. He married Maxie V. Van Gilder on April 9, 1955 in St. Marys, Kansas. Before he retired he worked in the bus maintenance department for Dallas County Public Schools. He retired to Jenks, Oklahoma where he enjoyed working in his flower garden. He liked talking, visiting and spending time with his family. Howard was preceded in death by his parents: Ruel and Edna (Bruce) Eden and his brother: J. D. Eden. Howard is survived by his wife: Maxie (Van Gilder) Eden of Jenks; his son: Blake Eden of Jenks; his two daughters: Laurel DeLammermore and her husband, Rodney of Claremore, Oklahoma; Cyndi Shelton and her husband, Ed of Flower Mound, Texas; his stepmother: Hazel Eden of Monett, Missouri; mother in-law: Lucille Van Gilder of Vermillion, Kansas; his brother: Gary Eden and his wife, Vivian of Verona, Missouri; his grandchildren: Heather and Amanda Wade and Craig DeLammermore; Stephanie Davis, Jennifer Grant and her husband, Aaron; great-great grandchildren: Brooklyn Whitecotton, Kaylee Davis, Christian, Reagan and Brynn Grant as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and acquaintances.
