Houston Allen Young, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 35. Though his time on this earth feels far too short, Houston's life was full of love, service, and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Born on June 18, 1989, in Enid, Oklahoma, Houston was the beloved son of Tom Young and Kelly (Gray) Young.
Houston found his greatest joy when he met the love of his life, Nicole Dutra. They were married on March 26, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, beginning a beautiful life together built on faith, love, and devotion to family. Together they were raising three daughters - Gracie, Kennedy, and Nayeli - who were the very center of Houston's world. He often said his girls had him wrapped around their fingers, and he wouldn't have had it any other way.
A man of quiet faith and humble service, Houston was a follower of Christ and was baptized in recent years - a decision that shaped the way he lived each day. He loved cooking meals for his family, spending time outdoors, and being surrounded by the people he loved most. In every interaction, Houston was known for his generosity - never hesitating to help a friend, share a meal, or even give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
Houston had recently moved to Okmulgee, where he purchased a home as a place to grow his family and build new memories. He was a devoted husband, a hands-on father, and a hard-working man that many turned to for guidance, friendship, or simply a helping hand. His life was a reflection of his faith - treating every person with kindness, patience, and compassion.
Houston leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Young; his children, Gracie, Kennedy, and Nayeli Young; his father, Tom Young and wife Melba Young; his mother, Kelly Young; his siblings, Taylor Young, Rachele Young, and Scarlett Young; many cherished nieces and nephews; and countless other relatives and friends who were blessed by his life.
Though we grieve his passing, we take comfort in knowing Houston is now at peace, resting in the arms of his Savior. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
