Hobert Lee Franklin, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at the age of 90. He was born January 12, 1923 to John O. Franklin and Grace (West) Franklin in Walnut Tree, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace Franklin; daughter, Mary Joe Franklin; sister, Mayrene Lavenne Allen and brother, Calvin Earn Franklin. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Franklin of the home; his children, Linda Kay Williams and husband, Ed of Okmulgee, Wilma Dane Reid and husband, Fred of Cookson, Nadine McKillip of Okmulgee, Junie Lee Sanders of Okmulgee and Robert Lee Franklin and wife, Denise of Okmulgee; one sister, Novn Allen of Arkansas; brother, Junior Lee Franklin of Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Burial will follow the service at the Williams Family Cemetery in Okmulgee under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Robby McKillip, Bobby McKillip, Hank Williams, Daniel Sanders, Todd Franklin, Mark Reid, Kendall Turman and Steven Williams. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Patriot Guard Riders.
