Herbert "Herb" R. Lewis, 85, of Broken Arrow, OK passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. Herb was born December 10, 1928 in Antlers, OK to Matt and Cora Lewis. He graduated high school in Washington, OK and then entered the United State Air Force on February 11, 1948. He served our country until November 1, 1949. Herb worked as a truck driver for Rocket Trucking as well as a groundskeeper for the Department of Human Services. He loved all of his family very much and loved to travel and fish. They spent many winters in Brownsville, Texas to escape the cold weather. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Elsie. Herb is survived by his son Douglas Lewis and his wife Rhonda of Broken Arrow, daughter Jane Ward and her husband Mike of Broken Arrow; his first wife Ann Cole; sister Opal Robinson of Sand Springs, brother Ken Lewis of Prattville, and sister Lou Curren of Tulsa, sister Bessie Rowlett and her husband Jack of Tulsa, and sister Betty Sue Blanton and her husband Wendell of Tulsa; Grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, Diana, and Erica; and Great-grandchildren Ethen, Eli, Jaden, Gavin, and Ciara.
