Herbert J Coupe

Herb Coupé went home to heaven January 7, 2021 at the age of 76, in Tulsa, OK. Through his battle with COVID, he fulfilled his life's testimony of facing challenges with boldness…and finished strong!

Herb was born on February 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL. and spent a lot of his summers skiing on Wonder Lake at his grandparent’s home. Graduated from McAuley High School in Joplin, MO. and attended Jasper County Junior College.

Herb married the love of his life, Diana Fellwock, and celebrated 50 wonderful years together in 2020. They have three children, seventeen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Herb was a faithful father who demonstrated giving your all, to all you do.

He spent the majority of his career in retail sales. Before retiring in 2011 he was a Regional Shoe Coordinator with Dillards for 25 years. Herb always cared most about the people he worked with, motivating them to be happy and live successful lives. He also was a cut-up, joking, harassing and inspiring people to enjoy life, be happy and do their best. Herb was bold and sincere - "I call it like I see it." He trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior in April, 2002 and served as a head usher, greeter and Sunday School helper in his church. His past times included helping neighbors, walking, keeping his lawn and vehicles "looking good” and watching college & professional football.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents Vincent Sr & Helen Coupé and sister Merle Ann Brown. Herb is survived by his wife Diana, and his three children Michelle (& Josh) Smith, Derrick (& Wendye) Coupé, Guy (& Sarah) Coupé plus seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, his Brother Vincent Coupé Jr, and seven nieces & nephews.

A viewing is scheduled for January 14 from 5-8pm at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Family is receiving guests from 5-6pm.

Herb's life will be celebrated January 15, 2021 in his church, Eastland Baptist of Tulsa at 10am.
