Herbert "Cliff" Clifford Hanchett, Jr.

June 21, 1937 — July 4, 2017

Herbert “Cliff’ Clifford Hanchett, Jr., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 after a strong battle with cancer.

Cliff was born June 21, 1937 on a farm near Delphos, Kansas. He was the son of Herbert Clifford Hanchett and Velma (Goodall) Hanchett.

On August 14th, 1963, Cliff married the love of his life, Betty Hanchett in Pueblo, Colorado who passed away on April 12, 2008.

Cliff served our country in the U.S. Army. He retired as a Shuttle Bus Driver for Cimarron Public Transit. In his earlier years he was employed as an electrician, plumber, truck driver and was a Police Officer in Salina, Kansas.

He was a member of Vera Full Gospel Fellowship and also was a Patriot Legion Rider.

Cliff loved playing his harmonica and was the happiest when he was riding his motorcycle. Cliff was known for telling tall tales and being hilarious. He was a good Christian man, loved his wife and loved his family and had many friends.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, four brothers, a grandson and a great granddaughter.

Survivors include three daughters; Connie Williams of Colorado Springs, CO and husband Roy, Liz Wells of Ramona, OK and husband Dennis, and Teresa Moreno of Granbury, TX and husband Noel; three sons; Bob Hanchett of Salina, KS and wife Shelley, Trey Hanchett of Salina, KS and wife Lois, and Ty Hanchett of Wichita, KS. Cliff also leaves 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and a sister, Virginia Hanchett of Hills City, KS.
