Henry Stanley Taylor, 91 years old, went to heaven the evening of Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Visitation with family will be held from 12:00 p.m., until service time on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Osborn Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel, officiated by Reverend Jonathan Beck of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.
Henry was born on November 3, 1923, in Marshall, Texas. After graduation from Marshall High School and a semester at the local college, he proudly served his country at various military bases, in the Army Air Force during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he owned and operated Taylor’s Gulf Service at the corner of Line and Dalzell in Shreveport, LA for 51 years. He was a resident of Shreveport for approximately 71 years.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Ruby Taylor; two sisters, Ernestine Taylor and Sarah Muir and first wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita George Taylor; son, William S. (Bill) Taylor; daughter, Deborah Taylor Benge; grandchildren, Brett Benge, Sean Taylor, Rachel Taylor Hoefling and husband, Dustin; and great granddaughter, Frankie Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Brett Benge, Steve Benge, Sean Taylor, Ronald Taylor, Gary Taylor and Ray Koch.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the food bank of Northwest Louisiana, 2307 Texas Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103, or other charity of your choice.
