Helen Francis Jenkins

Helen Francis Jenkins, a former resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the age of 95. She was born October 16, 1919 to Royal Winder Wood and Loretta Pansy (Smith) Wood in Mays Landing, New Jersey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee and was a Sunday School teacher there for many years. She helped open the gift shop at the George Nigh Rehabilitation Center and was a Hospital Volunteer at the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Jenkins was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved socializing with everyone and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gilbert Daniel Jenkins, Jr. in 2003.

Survivors include her four children, Jerry Albrecht of College Station, TX, Carol Burns of Houston, TX, Gilbert Daniel Jenkins III and wife, Vida of Tulsa and Donna Mackrille and husband, Alfred of Valley Center, CA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service.
