Hattie L. Cothern, 69 went to be with her Lord, Monday, February 16, 2004 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Cothern was born January 19, 1935 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Gene Lonzo Copeland and Lectie Mae Bugg. Mrs. Cothern married Carl Cothern and lived in Bixby, Oklahoma before moving to Glenpool, Oklahoma 20 years ago. She previously worked as a welder for Continental Industries before retiring and becoming a home maker. Mrs. Cothern was known as €œGranny€ throughout the community. She enjoyed gardening, working outdoors and participated in Feed The Children charity. Mrs. Cothern was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, an infant daughter; her husband, Carl Cothern; sisters: Billie Copeland, Thelma Stark, Katheryn Thornhill; brothers: Alvin Copeland and Jimmy Copeland. She is survived by her son, Wayne Cothern, daughter, Cheryl Widowski, sisters: Patsy Reyburn and Betty Eddoe; brother, Everett Copeland; five grandchildren; Bobby Joe Sparks, Crystal Ann Parker, Shelby Widowski, Deann Cothern and Cristie Cothern, several great grandchildren; her niece, Sheila Kay Stahl and her close friends, Jayne Allen and Daina Whisenhunt.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Oklahoma.
