Harold Ronald Combs

   Harold Ronald (Ron) Combs, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 2,

2022. Ron was born January 12, 1933 in Tulsa to Harold and Maxine Combs. He was a man of

many talents and interests. Ron played baseball and served in the bugle corp with the Navy.

After serving in the military he attended Tulsa University where he majored in journalism. Ron

was a life long Tulsa Golden Hurricane fan! Playing the guitar, taking photographs, serving the

community through church (St. Dunstan’s Episcopal) and St. Francis Hospice were just a few of

his passions. He was a firm believer in fitness, health and taking care of his body. Frequently

you could find him out either walking or riding his bicycle.

  Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Blake Smith, whom he met in college.

Barbara passed in 1973. In 1975 he married Carolyn Rae Strickland. Carolyn passed in 1998.

He is survived by his daughter Angelina Carolyn Combs, grandson Cameron Christopher Watts,

wife Lucia Evelyn Merritt, whom he married in 2002 her family and Joyce Hull his sister.

   A prayer ceremony and interment of his ashes will be on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at

3:00pm at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church. In leiu of flowers it is asked that donations be made

in his name to St. Francis Hospice.
