In God’s mercy, Gordon Dean Cosgrove was given new life in Jesus Christ in October 1990. In God’s faithfulness, on February 21, 2015 Dean was taken safely home with his beloved Lord and Savior. The faith that was given him by God coupled with God’s Word was the beacon that guided his life. It was stamped upon his soul, and enabled him to conquer the darkness of Alzheimer’s disease. His faith shone through the storms of life in peace, love and joy. For him to live was Christ and to die was gain. He fought the good fight of faith, ran the race and has crossed the finish line receiving his reward, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Dean was given 80 wonderful years of life. Born on March 2, 1934 in Oklahoma City, he is preceded in death by his parents, Gertha and Hukel Cosgrove and his brother, Ken.
He graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1952 and went to work for Price Waterhouse as a staff accountant. In 1960, he became one of the first employees for MAPCO Inc. After 25 years, he retired as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He served as CEO for Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital from December 1987-October 1988. He also faithfully served on several local board of directors and civic organizations.
The Lord and his family were the loves of his life. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter, Kim Cosgrove; son, Craig Cosgrove and his wife Pam; son Drew Cosgrove and his wife Donna; and son Jeff Tolle and his wife Jocelyn. He was given seven grandchildren to enrichen his life and one beautiful great grandson. He leaves a legacy of loving memories for us all.
