Glen Ray Kennemer

Glen Ray Kennemer died at 4:45am on November 17, 2023 after a month-long battle with cancer at the age of 81. Glen was born March 7, 1941, in his family home in Tulsa and was the youngest of seven siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. and Lucy K. Kennemer along with his siblings: Harold Kennemer, Lucille Hanlin, Lynita Brock, Mariana Wilkerson, and Juanita Warnock.

Glen is survived by his wife of 62 years Rebecca and their two sons, Gary and Mark, and Mark's wife Teena. He has two grandsons: Gary's son, Evan Ray, and Mark's son, Jared Lee. He is also survived by his brother Dean Kennemer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen graduated from Tulsa Webster High School in 1958. Soon after, he married Rebecca on December 27, 1960. Two years later they had Gary then Mark two years after. Glen served as a firefighter on the City of Tulsa Fire Department for 21 years. He served most of that tenure as a driver at Station 26, retiring in 1991. While at Tulsa FD, Glen also worked as a bus driver and dispatcher for Jefferson/MK&O Bus Lines, retiring in 1988. Later, he worked for Creek Nation Casinos for about a decade, finally retiring in 2018. Since then, Glen worked in various other jobs to provide for and spend time with his family.

The Kennemer family remembers Glen as hard-working and never hesitating to prioritize his family, especially his sons and grandsons.

A Celebration of Glen's life will be held 11:00 AM, November 22, 2023 at Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service (1329 E 151st Street, Glenpool, OK 74037) with a reception to follow at noon.
