Glen Dale Scarbrough, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017. He was born April 14, 1939, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Raymond and Josie (Nicholson) Scarbrough. Glen graduated from Dale High School and continued his education at Oklahoma Baptist University, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting.
On May 27, 1983, he married his loving wife, Elena Goldsmith.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Glen worked at ONEOK Inc. for 35 years. After working in numerous positions, he retired in 1994 as general manager, purchasing and materials.
Glen loved working outside in his yard. He spent most of his retirement landscaping an acre of land which was featured on OETA’s Oklahoma Gardening and was toured by the Claremore Garden Association. He enjoyed traveling with Elena and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josie (Nicholson) Scarbrough; son, Glen Dale Scarbrough II; sister, Maxine Smith; brother, Ray Scarbrough; and son-in-law, Maurice (Moe) Ingle.
Glen is survived by his wife, Elena Scarbrough; three daughters, Dianna Ingle, Donna Ford and husband, Gary, and Amanda Hardt; and six grandchildren, Raquel Ingle, Richard Ingle, Ryan Ingle, Danielle Ford, Dawniece Ford and David Hardt. He also leaves one sister, Norma Cowden; one brother, David Scarbrough; sister-in-law, Marquita Goldsmith; special cousin, Anita Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Glen Dale Scarbrough to the Alzheimer’s Association.
An Inurnment Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 17th, 2017 in the Columbarium Garden at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133 with Pastor Jay Henderson officiating.
