Gertrude Ann Mckelvey

Gertrude Ann McKelvey, 78, of Owasso, OK passed away February 13, 2017 at St John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.

Ann was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 18, 1938 to John and Gertrude (Hallock) McKelvey. After graduating high school, she attained her Bachelors of Education and became a teacher. Ann worked for the Indian Camp School in Pawhuska, and Bartlesville School District for years. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. She loved showing Old English Sheep dogs, Newfoundlands and Miniature Pinschers. In 1979 she won "Best in Show", a prestigious award in the dog showing community. After her retirement Ann taught ESL and began TEACH in Owasso.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents.

Ann is survived by her brother; Hal McKelvey of Havertown, PA, nephews; Mark and Carla McKelvey of Coos Bay, OR, David and Carla McKelvey of Grapevine, TX, Walter and Jennifer McKelvey, Midlothian, TX, Tim and Alethea McKelvey of Coppell, TX, Dale and Sarah McKelvey of Havertown, PA, Eight great-nephews and nieces; one great-great niece. And numerous friends.

A celebration of Ann's life will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Ochelata Sportsman's Club, 27990 N 3950 Rd, Ochelata, OK.
