George Bullet (GB) Fields died on November 25, 2020 in Glenpool, OK. He was born on June 20, 1933 in Watts, OK to George Bullet Fields and Leona (Napier) Fields. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having joined the Army National Guard of Oklahoma when he was just 16. He was ordered to active duty service in the Korean War the following year. He married Effie Mainard on August 30, 1952. George and his family moved to Glenpool in 1960, and he spent the next 60 years calling it home. He was an avid sports person and helped start the Little League Baseball program in Glenpool. He loved the game of golf and played regularly up to his last year. He retired from International Brotherhood of Boilermakers in 1994. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Leona, his sisters Judy May, Emma Jean, and Billie Gale and his brothers Ronald Neal, Kenneth Quinten and Robert Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Effie Fields, two sons Darrell Wayne and Michael Ray, their wives Linda and Peggy, his sister Rosemary Wall; three grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Nicholson, Christopher Scott Fields, Colette Fields Joubran, step grandson Justin Plum, five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be Monday, November 30, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00PM at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service. Services will be held 2:00 P.M First Baptist Church of Glenpool on December 1, 2020 with interment immediately following at Bixby Cemetery.
