George Albert Mitchell

George A. Mitchell, Jr. George A. Mitchell, Jr., a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the age of 73. He was born September 17, 1937 to George Albert Sr. and Lorene Mitchell in Terre Haute, Indiana. He served in the United States Army and was a mechanic with the Army. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his father, George Mitchell, Sr. and mother, Lorene Mitchell; brother, Jimmy Mitchell and son, Tony Wayne Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Wynonna Mitchell of the home; three children, George A. Mitchell, Jr. of Tulsa, Karen Mitchell Lee of Tulsa and Bruce Allen Mitchell of Morris; two step-children, Randy Wright of Dewar and Leasa Cooke and husband, Robbie of Sapulpa; two sisters, Virginia Sorenson of Okmulgee and Lorene Coffman of Tulsa and numerous grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Demaria Yock officiating.
