Eugene Raymond Parks

February 2, 1931 — April 18, 2025

Eugene "Gene" Raymond Parks, age 94, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 2, 1931, in Creston, Nebraska, Gene lived a long, full life marked by devotion, hard work, and a heart full of laughter.

Gene married the love of his life, Elaine, on April 28, 1962, and together they built a strong and loving family that was always his greatest pride. He was a devoted husband, a steadfast father to Diane, Larry, Eugene, Debra Jo, Lori Ann, John, Scott, David, and Michael, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored their "Grandpa Gene."

Gene was a provider in every sense of the word. Self-educated and deeply mechanical, he had a mind that never stopped creating. A gifted inventor and patent holder, Gene could fix just about anything and often did - not just for his own family, but for anyone who needed a helping hand. His cowboy boots, quick wit, and twinkle in his eye were the trademarks of a man who could tease with love and laugh with his whole being.

He enjoyed the open road and the freedom of traveling in his 5th wheel RV, often behind the wheel and always with a destination in mind - or sometimes, simply the joy of the journey. He loved to drive, to see the world, and to share it with his family.

Gene had a special fondness for ballroom dancing, fried chicken, and apple pie. He loved to play cards, with "Pitch" being the family favorite. His competitive streak was balanced by a quiet patience, especially with the grandkids he loved so dearly. Though he ran a tight ship - especially with the boys - he had a soft spot for his daughters and grandchildren, often letting the little things slide.

Gene took pride in being a father and provider. He was a firm but fair disciplinarian, always leading by example and taking care of his own with unwavering dedication. His legacy is not only in the inventions he created or the roads he traveled, but in the lives he shaped - the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be remembered for his strength, his stories, his teasing humor, and the way he made each person in his family feel important, loved, and cared for.

Private family services will be held.
