Ozelma Gayle Smith, a lifelong resident of Okmulgee, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the age of 80. She was born June 11, 1930 to Edward Jessie and Norma Lee (Powers) Sullins in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Glenda Carter, Tommie Carter and Maymie Penfield; two brothers, Jimmy Sullins and William Bill Sullins; two grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Bryant, Jr. and Nathan Smith. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Howard Smith of the home; two children, Jim Bryant and wife, Julia and Russell Smith, all of Okmulgee; four sisters, Louise Young and husband, Arley of Morris, Geraldine Hurst of Okmulgee, Hazel Sullins of Tulsa, Rowenna Pomeroy and husband, Don of Muskogee; four brothers, Edward Sullins and wife, Dovie of Checotah, Dale Sullins of Okmulgee, Lester Sullins and wife, Dorothy of Sherman, TX and Ray Sullins of Henryetta; eight grandchildren, Holly Horn, Jody Bryant, Emily Bryant, Justin Smith, Dylan Smith, Tyson Davis, Brittany Weaver and James Weaver; two great grandchildren, Tiffiny Teague and Julianna Cook and one great great grandchild, Torry Teague. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Okmulgee with Armando Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow the service at the New Sonora Cemetery in Henryetta, OK under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
