Gary Sullivan Walker

Gary (Jazz) Sullivan Walker, a resident of Eufaula, OK, was born on May 24, 1955 to Barney Walker and Lucy Mae Ryal. He passed away on May 8, 2010 at his residence in Eufaula at the age of 54 years. He was a member of the Muskogee Creek Nation and he was on the Membership Board for the Eufaula Indian Community. He enjoyed living in Eufaula where he made many friends. His hobbies were making sofkey, picking wild onions and playing darts, and of course a big OU Fan.Mr. Walker was a printer. Gary is survived by his brothers Robert Walker and wife Jean of Electra, Texas, Edward Walker and wife JoAnna of Ada, Oklahoma, Tommy Walker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Danny Walker and wife LaDonna of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one sister Andrea Herrod and husband Eugene of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and a host of neices and nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Barney Walker. 1 Sister: Ella Walker. 4 Brothers: Virgil, Barney Jr., Stanley and Richard Walker. Services for Mr. Walker will be Friday, May 14, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel, with a wake service Thursday May 13, 2010 from 7:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m., also at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel, with Eugene Whitlow and Alfred Berryhill Officiating. Pallbearers will be Guymon Marshall, George Tiger, Shane Evans, D.J. Deere, Jason Fairchilds,and Commey Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Marshall, Eugene Herrod, Michael Walker, Mario Walker, Marcus Walker, Derrick Marshall and C.J. Dowling. Burial will follow at the Walker Family Cemetery in Ryal under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
