Gary Michael Hessom, a resident of Morris, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the age of 66. He was born March 17, 1947 to Edward C. Hessom, Sr. and Beatrice (Kinsey) Hessom in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. Gary enjoyed car racing and working on his cars. He was dedicated to his family and loved them dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Beatrice Hessom. Survivors include his two nieces, Heather Pillars and husband, Jason of Collinsville and Robin C. Wright-Farmer and husband, Kelly of Manford; two great nephews, Wyatt Pillars of Collinsville and Kyle Wright and wife, Courtney of Drumwright; two great-great nephews, Garett and Gunnar Wright and one great-great niece, Gracie Wright, all of Drumwright; one brother, Carl Hessom, Jr. and wife, Donna of Morris. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Myles Schultz officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Patriot Guard Riders. Pallbearers will be Bobby Franklin, Andy Watkins, Rick Claborn, Jerry Remington, James Remington and Jeff Schmeder.
