Garry Lee Ellis

Garry Lee Ellis of Glenpool, OK passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Saint Francis Hospital at the age of 70. He was born on November 14, 1947, in Harrison, AR to Ora (Scott) Ellis and Perry Buck Ellis.

Garry attended Harrison High School, where he graduated in 1966. After graduation he attended Southern Baptist College at Walnut Ridge, AR. He continued his education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Garry married Glenna Ellis on January 22, 1966 and together they had one daughter, Janet Watson. Garry loved music and serving people. He was the Minister of Music and Youth at Grandview Baptist Church, Grandview, AR; Minister of Music and Youth at Eastside Baptist Church, Mountain Home, AR; Minster of Music & Education at North Dallas Baptist Church, Dallas, TX; Minister of Music, Youth and Education at Lonoke Baptist Church, Lonoke, AR and Minister of Music at Valley View Baptist Church, North Tulsa, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ora and Perry Ellis; brothers, Perry Ellis, Jr, Jack Ellis, Johnny Ellis, Bennie Ellis and sister, Phyllis Ellis Martin.

Garry is survived by his wife; Glenna, daughter; Janet Watson and husband Jeffrey, grandchildren; Megan and Jeffrey Watson, II, mother-in-law; Edith South, sister; Sharon Ellis Allgood and husband Paul, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations in memory of Garry to the Gideon’s International or the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church of Glenpool, OK.

A visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on March 2, 2018 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033.

Services will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Glenpool, OK. Burial to follow at Denning Cemetery in Harrison, AR with graveside on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
