Garland Gene Duren

Garland Gene Duren passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Arbor Village Nursing Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Garland was born December 9, 1938 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Hubert Fetus and Alma Irene Duren. He grew up in Drumright and Cushing, Oklahoma. He loved working in the oil field, planting flowers and anything western.

Garland was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Festus Duren and mother, Irene McDaniel; sister, Peggy Haner, and brother, Hubert Duren; grandsons: Dustin Rusco and Cody Duren and great-grandson, Lanten Shelton. He is survived by his four children: Lorie Hurst and her husband, Harold, Doyle Duren, Randall Duren and his wife, Joy King, and Sheila Rusco; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Harlend Duren and his wife, Barbara, Randy Duren, Gennie Castleberry, and Mike Duren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church on (HWY 33 West of Kellyville) 24523 W. Hwy 33, Sapulpa 74066. A lunch will be served at 1:00 PM before the service.
