Gail Rae Reed was born on September 11, 1947, to Francis Dunn Jones, PhD, and Evelyn Ray (Coats) Jones. Beginning with grade school, Gail spent her early years in Little Rock, Arkansas and then the family moved to Springfield, Missouri where she attended Glendale High School and enjoyed her time on the golf team.
After graduating from Glendale High School, she received her Bachelors degree in Sociology from SMSU and Education degree from Langston University. In 1970 she married Don Michael Reed of Cassville, Missouri and in 1973 had their only child, Jason Michael Reed. Gail spent most of her adult life in Bixby, Oklahoma where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
From her early years working as a bank teller for over 10 years in Bixby, to getting her teaching certificate to teaching & tutoring students in middle school, to her later employment work in customer service, she was always known for her gentle demeanor and customer friendliness that always left you smiling. Gail was a loyal, kind, and generous person who always remembered birthdays, loved gardening and making craft projects.
In addition to the family members listed above, Gail is survived by her son, Jason, his wife Y and grandchildren, Tannen and Kyla Reed, as well as her younger brother, Dr. Laird Evan Jones, MD, his wife, Laura Mundo Jones, their children, Laird Evan Jones, Jr. and his wife Jackie Bingham Jones and their children( Isla, and Aurora), Adriana Jones Rincon and her husband Erick Rincon and their son (Joaquin), sister-in-law Molly Jones and her children Francis Dunn Jones, III, and Mary Evelyn Jones, nephews, Matthew Kirsch and his, wife Keri, their children, (Liza and Kei), Daniel Kirsch and his wife Laura, their children (Evan, Mabel, and Thomas), and Aunt Ella Jones and her husband Don Jones and many more family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Francis Dunn Jones, PhD, and Mrs. Evelyn Rae (Coats) Jones, her brother, Dr. Francis Dunn Jones II, DVM, and her sister Mrs. Jan Kirsch.
A memorial service will be held at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 E. 151st St., Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033, at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2023.
