FREEDA MARIE WORSHAM HUTTON WOLFE
Freeda Marie Wolfe was born December 5, 1923, in Panhandle, Texas, to Francis W. Worsham and Esther Worsham. She went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a long illness. Freeda was a member of the first freshman class at Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa and graduated in 1942. . She later attended Oklahoma A & M College. She was married to Richard Heron Avis Hutton on April 25, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were divorced in July 1962. She married Earl William Wolfe on November 20, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During World War II, Richard was stationed at Fort Belvoir near Washington, DC and Freeda was employed by the Army as a typist in a top secret operation located on that base dealing with operations in the European theater. Before her marriage and after the divorce, Freeda worked at secretarial jobs with various employers including Bell Oil and Gas, Standard Oil Company, Colorado Fuel and Iron, and Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission. Following her marriage to Earl, Freeda became a legal assistant in his office until her retirement in 1992. She was active in an auxiliary of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association during that time.
Freeda was a dedicated Christian woman and a life-long teacher of Bible classes in Sunday Schools at Red Fork Baptist Church, Berean Baptist Church, and Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, all in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Harvard Avenue, Freeda was selected to lead the formation of singles classes and also led a senior adult group known as Keen Age Kids, writing a newsletter entitled Joy of Love Messenger for that group. Freeda was a member of the choir in all of those churches. For the past seven years, Freeda has been a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Freeda was preceded in death by her father, Francis W. Worsham, mother Esther Worsham, brother Henry Willard Worsham, and her former husband, Richard Hutton. She is survived by her husband Earl W. Wolfe, sons Chane (Jennifer) Hutton, Kim (Barbara) Hutton, Brett (Monette) Hutton, step-daughters Sherry (Duane) Rigdon and Denise (Edsel) Doss, and step sons Larry Wolfe and Danny Wolfe, eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brothers Wally (Jollie) Worsham and Wesley (Jeanne) Worsham, and sister Joyce (Darrel) Colton, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
