Frederick Malvern Summers

Frederick Malvern Summers II, passed away peacefully late Saturday night, August 4th, 2018. We all know he was a tough son of a gun! Fredio, Freddy aka ‘yunt to’ had more lives than 9 cats. He fought through diabetes, heart disease, and cancer and didn’t want to end the party. Freddy was a foodie, water and sunset seeker, sports fan, backgammon enthusiast, comic, and a prospector of wisdom. He is preceded in death by his father, Eldridge Melvin Summers, and will be lovingly remembered by many including his Mother, Rosalie Eve Summers (Szelag), sisters, Andrea Marie Florentine (Summers) and Renee Rosalie Walton (Summers), younger brother E. Michael Summers. Most happenin, most caring and loving “Dear old Dad” to his surviving daughters, Malorie Rebecca Summers, Sarah Michelle Day married to son in-law Keith Edward Day, Audrey Paige Hunter married to son in-law Eric Matthew Hunter, and their daughter’s Mother, Penelope Page Holmes. Fred, was a very proud Grandfather (Grandpa Fred) to four grandchildren, Zachary Edward Day, Veya Penelope Hunter, Everly Paige Hunter, and Bronson Matthew Hunter. Fred had momentous relationshipswith his nephew Vincent Paul Florentineand niece Cassondra Marie Florentine, as well as his longtime friend, Theresa Hall and her son Bobby Hall.

Frederick Malvern Summers II, was born in Oklahoma City, Ok May 2, 1960. He played football and baseball through high school and went on to complete his undergrad at the University of Tulsa in Business. He then began a lifelong career in sales. In 1982 he married Penelope Page Holmes. After their first daughter, Audrey, was born, they moved to Wichita, KS. They quickly grew their family by two additional daughter's, Sarah and Malorie. Fred relocated to Houston, TX in 1992 where he continued his sales career winning Top Salesman awards and recognition's time and time again. He lived in a beautiful home building memories, cooking, and having fun together out by the pool with family members throughout the last 30 years.

When you were around this big Texas and Oklahoma heart he’d start out with,

“Let me tell you somethin and you’d better listen up,”then he would enjoy sharing life’s wisdom. Mind over matter and staying tough were his mantra’s for himself and anyone he came in contact with. Fred was always honest and fittingly used a little tough love with his girls to be sure they could handle anything this world threw at them. ‘Good ole Freddy boy’ your love for life is what we will always remember. Your loving intentions and sensitive nature are what we will cherish. You will be loved forever. Our angel in heaven, you will always be bad to the bone.

A prayer service and celebration of Fred's life will be held in Atlanta, GA on August 11, 2018, 6pm at Piedmont Park.
