Fred "Butch" Thayer

Fred Lee Thayer, age 76, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at Rebold Manor in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Fred was born July 24, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles and Sarah Colbert Thayer. Fred attended Oklahoma University and served in the Oklahoma National Guard for six years. He was a manager of Locke Plumbing Supply Company and later owned his own private security company.

Preceding Fred in death were his parents, his wife, Judy, his brother, Robert Thayer, a niece and a nephew.

Fred is survived by his sons Freddie, Rocky and Charles Thayer, a daughter Dairah Thayer Copeland, and sisters Dorothy Thayer Parris and Betty Jean Thayer Larkin, as well as eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren, a niece and many nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel in Glenpool. Interment will be in the Colbert Family Cemetery, Haskell, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers are: Rusty Green, Ryan Thayer, Colt Thayer, Brandon Thayer, Christopher Copeland and Larry Copeland.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Concharty Methodist Church, 19040 Garfield Road, Okmulgee, Oklahoma 74447 (918 366-8450).
