Frank Curtis 'Curt' Brady, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Veteran's Care Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. Curt was born May 25, 1923 to Matthew Frank Brady and Helen Louise (Robinson) Brady in Van Buren, Arkansas. He attended Wagoner Public School where he eventually earned his diploma in a special ceremony in 2004. Prior to graduating from High School, Curt enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He was a distinguished service member during World War II where he served on the USS Henrico Attack Transport 45. Curt was married to Marietta Katherine Ashwood on August 10, 1948 in Tulsa, OK. He worked various jobs throughout his life from ranching manager to the railroad until he finally retired as a plant foreman at CRC-Evans in Tulsa, OK. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bowling, and sharing stories with his family and friends. Curt was baptized at the age of 78 and became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Wagoner, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Marietta; older sister Helen Thompson; and younger brother Robert Brady. Curt is survived by his children: Paula Fritz and husband, Duane, of Jenks, OK; Steven Matthew Brady and wife of Berryhill, OK; 4 granddaughters, Michelle Murphy of Broken Arrow; Christina Carson and her husband, John of Tulsa, OK; Angela Platner and her husband Blake of Broken Arrow, OK; and Brenda Gaskins of Glenpool, OK; 9 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, and one great granddog; one sister, Betty Young of Bella Vista, AR; brother Paul Brady and wife Pat of Mt. View, AR; brother Dave Brady and wife Kathy of Choctaw, OK; and brother Carl Brady and wife Merna of Frederick, CO; brother-in-law, Jerry Hames and wife Esperanza of Del Rio, TX; sister-in-law, Nancy Neyen and husband Dick of Pagosa Springs, CO along with many nieces and nephews. Memorial services are to be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel in Glenpool. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
