Frances Jeanine Jones

Frances Jeanine "JJ" Jones, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Saint Simeon's Episcopal Home in Tulsa. Jeanine was born October 17, 1934 in Lucedale, Mississippi, the daughter of Francis Xavier and Dorothy Mae (Wright) Skinner and grew up in Mississippi and Alabama before moving to Chicago her junior year of high school.

Jeanine attended Calumet High in Chicago and then attended the University of Kentucky where she met her husband and father of her children Raymond G. Jones. As the young wife of an Air Force pilot, she spent the early years of motherhood traveling around the world while raising a family in locations from Cape Kennedy to Honolulu. After the busy work of raising four children, Jeanine began a successful, designer wallpaper installation company serving the Tulsa and Grand Lake areas for many years. Jeanine was very involved with the Designer Showcase in Tulsa. She was a devout Christian and remained very involved in her church, Adventist Fellowship in Tulsa. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend to many for whom she cared dearly. JJ will be remembered for her warm smile, sparkling eyes, sense of humor, determination and her unwavering faith and trust in God. She is reunited with her father Francis Xavier (Smokey Joe), her mother Dorothy Mae (Dot), sister Patsy and grandson Emmett. JJ leaves in God's care her four children Belinda Ruth Horn and husband Steve, Henry (Hank) D. Jones and wife Mary, Mary Beth Broach, Laura Annette Polivka and husband Jay; five grandsons: Bobby, Caleb, Graham, Jack and Christopher; three granddaughters: Nisa, Amanda and Maggie and is survived by siblings James S. Skinner and Dorothy Martz and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank Baptist Village of Broken Arrow for their loving care of JJ during her last years.

A memorial ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 PM , Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa.
