Floyd Millard Largent

Floyd Millard Largent, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the age of 90. He was born Tuesday, July 19, 1932 to Joseph and Anna (Seay) Largent in Paden, Oklahoma.

On August 28, 1954, he married Betty Cody in Paden, Oklahoma. They moved to Okmulgee, where he lived throughout the rest of his life. Floyd worked on a ranch in Davis, Oklahoma as a young man, then Tinker Air Force Base during the Korean War. After moving to Okmulgee, he worked at Jack Bell Lumber Company and T.H. Rogers Lumber Company where he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee.

Floyd's favorite pastimes were cookouts with the kids, watching OSU and Seattle Seahawks football, and spending time with Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Largent, parents, Joseph and Ann Largent, two brothers James Largent, his twin brother Boyd Largent, and his sister Joan Cantrell.

Survivors include his faithful dog Buddy, two children Sheri Sewell and husband Bruce of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Jayme Shutt and husband Mark of Austin, Texas, two most loved granddaughters Emily and Madison Shutt, two sisters Phyllis Ford and husband Kenneth of Elkart, Kansas, and Linda Lavendusky and husband John of Olathe, Kansas.

A visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 7:00PM Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel, 220 S Alabama Ave. Okmulgee, Oklahoma 74447. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Okmulgee, 311 W 5th Street, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating with a graveside service to follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery.
