In Loving Memory: Floyd Duane Boggs

Floyd "Duane" Boggs, a beloved resident of Jenks, Oklahoma, journeyed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the age of 84. Born on June 7, 1939, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to parents Bud and Ruth Boggs, Duane's life was a symphony of service, love, and cherished moments.
During his formative years, Duane attended BerryHill High School, where he cultivated a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a passionate supporter of OU Football, a testament to his deep connection to his community and the things he loved.
Duane's legacy as a patriot and protector radiates with brilliance. With unwavering dedication, he committed over 38 years of his life to serving his country with honor and distinction in both the Army and the Air National Guard. His commitment to duty and selfless sacrifice earned him respect and admiration from all who had the privilege of knowing him.
On June 3, 1961, Duane embarked on a 62 year journey of love and companionship with his soulmate, June Chism. Their union was blessed with two sons, Michael Duane Boggs and Mark Douglas Boggs. Duane's unwavering dedication to his family was a cornerstone of his character, and his love for them knew no bounds.
Duane's legacy continued to bloom in the hearts of his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. He leaves behind three granddaughters: Kaylyn and her husband Dillon, Kenda and her husband Hunter, and Kyleigh and her husband Justin. His role as "Papa" was a source of joy and pride, shaping their lives with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Duane's love story extended to six great-grandchildren, Alva and Emmet Trotter, Tatum and Hannah Kirkendoll, and Ryleigh and Leightyn Peck.
Arrangements to honor and celebrate Duane's life have been entrusted to Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, located at 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033. Friends and family whose lives were touched by Duane are invited to come together to share stories, celebrate his journey, and find solace in the bonds of community.
Visitation will take place at Schaudt Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Duane's funeral service will be held at Westside Freewill Baptist Church (1403 S Cheyenne Rd, Sapulpa, OK 74066) on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
