In Loving Memory of Florence Adeline Guest

Florence Adeline Guest, a beloved resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Born on September 28, 1942, in Sheridan, Wyoming, Florence was the cherished daughter of LeRoy "Buzz" and Velma Harnish.

Florence spent her early years in Claremont, Wyoming, living a frugal life as her father worked as a sharecropper. She developed a love for driving the family tractor, even if a mishap over the hand pump water well occurred, showcasing her spirited nature. The family home in Buffalo, Wyoming, built by her father and grandfather, still stands today, a testament to the enduring legacy of the Harnish family.

With a deep connection to her Wyoming heritage, Florence lived in the state for over 35 years. On Wednesday, January 19, 1977, she married the love of her life John Guest in Gillette, Wyoming, and together they celebrated nearly 49 years of love and companionship. Their shared joy included outdoor activities, traveling the world, Wyoming football and spending time with their many schipperkes throughout the years.

Known affectionately as "Nana" by her grandchildren, Florence was a skilled cook, delighting each family member with their favorite dishes. Her love for the color blue reflected a vibrant and joyful personality. Florence also found fulfillment as a Cub Scout den mother, positively impacting the lives of young scouts.

Devoting her life to raising four children, Florence leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment. She is survived by, husband, John of Tulsa; her daughter, Tina Oedekoven of Gillette, WY, and husband Paul; daughter Teresa Wright of Gillette, WY; son Chris Straight of Lexington, OK; and son Mike Guest of Glenpool and wife Angi. She had 7 grandchildren: Keith Neether, who has passed, Nathan Neether, Tina Stewart and husband Kyle, Samantha Barber and husband Kris, Cassie Barker, Stephanie Straight, and Andrew Guest. She was great-grandmother to Blake ,Payton, Brennan, Remington, Harper, RiLynn, Brayden, Arianna, and Molly Blue.

In addition to her immediate family, Florence is remembered by her sisters Frances Smith, Fay McClelland and husband John, Phyllis Craig and husband Barney, brother-in-law Ronald Guest and wife Connie, and extended family, including nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Fern Harnish.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing and visitation at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St. Glenpool, OK 74033, on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
