Floren Edward Johnson, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the age of 86. He was born on August 4, 1929 in Wahoo, Nebraska to Louis T. Johnson and Esther Eyestone Johnson. He graduated from Kremlin High School in 1949. He enlisted in the US Navy September 1951 and discharged in 1954. He was a radioman while serving. He served in the Korean War. Floren married Marie Somers on August 1, 1952. They returned to Kremlin after being discharged from the Navy where he farmed for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Floren was preceded in death by one son, Floren Aaron Johnson; his parents, Louis and Esther Johnson; four brothers, Bill, Joe, Bobby and David and one sister, Janice Ropp. He is survived by his wife, Marie and his six surviving children, Ross and Donna McCartney of Enid, Bruce and Lyndie Johnson of Enid, Kevin and Vicky Johnson of Davis, Mike Hoyle and Brenda Frazier of Okmulgee, Willard and Dona Johnson of Davis and Faron and Jackie Johnson of Kremlin; one brother, Ted Johnson of Blackwell; three sisters, Joyce Moore of Blackwell, Mary Litschke of Enid and Dorothy Walta of Caldwell, KS; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Medford, Oklahoma with Father Carl Janocha officiating.
